use honda spray cleaner/polish. the best there is. even cleans the matte black areas and doesn't gloss them up, leaves it nice and satiny.

remus setup negatively affects the mileage probably because it is more fun to twist the throttle! that being said, i would never go back to not having it. remus setup makes the rock twice as fun to ride IMO.

and it's really rattles a bit when i first start it cold until the oil flows (after a second or two?)

oh, they probably replaced it. right inside the hole. no big deal, it won't hurt anything as confirmed by a couple techies i trust.

one thing they mentioned it that you don't need that hole to find TDC. so if you get another plug and put it in carefully, you can never remove it again.

kind of weird side note. i am fairly certain on my 2004 rockster the drain plug is a 17 nut, not a hex key!

seems to me when i did it, 4 quarts was just a touch too much. maybe a quarter of a cup or so? i would use 3 3/4 quarts then add a little bit more of needed.

the stealth backrest has a full steel underframe to hold the backrest that is invisible when the backrest is off. if your plastic rack bends when weight is on the backrest it sounds like a possible point of failure. i would rather spend the money and get a quality part, especially if my wife or chil...

barbacks can help alter the riding position slightly if you feel you are leaned to far forward. i got a really nice set from moto-techniques for like 40$. keeps the same look of the bar, but brings them up and back about 1.5 inches or so...

there are lnks to tutorials in the links section of this site. adjusting the valves isn't overly hard, but definitely is a neccessary thing. i'm not a major wrench, but accomplished it without too much pain last weekend. probably the dealers skip over it if it is anywhere close. here is the link in ...

i can check mine tonite, but isn't the original point of dwayne's post thathe wanted the taller OD 6th? if so maybe the guy who had his gearbox replaced or someone more techy than myself would know how much of a job it would be to replace the 6th gear with the desired one....

be warned, not only is the ticing normal, it get louder when it's really hot. like when you are stuck in traffic.

i did adjust my valves and it is a bit quieter, but the best solution has already been mentioned IMO. earplugs, or more specifically an ipod shuffle with in ear plug headphones!

not positive, maybe someone can confirm, but i heard the other day at the dealer that the r1150r abs is partially linked meaning the front activates the rear, bt the rear doesn't apply the front. otherwise they would be fully linked. like dj i only use the rear brake to stay stopped when strectching...

also you should be able to get clamps at your nearest autoparts store. maybe not as pretty, but they will do in a pinch. p.s. don't forget to clean off your finger marks before heating it up the first time. i specifically asked the dealer to do this and guess what? i now have prints burned into my p...

i'm guessing the RM seat you can't buy just the front part? if so can you use the stock rear pillion? obviously it doesn't match, but will it even fit?
