Staintune Exhaust (A question, not beating a dead horse)

Just ordered up a Staintune Exhaust System and am wondering (hoping) the clamps come with the gear. I'm 210 miles from the closest dealership and will have to mail order said clamps if they are not provided with the pipe.

My guess would be yes (the clamps should come with it)...is it just the can that you've ordered...or the can and cat collector box thingie as well?

also you should be able to get clamps at your nearest autoparts store. maybe not as pretty, but they will do in a pinch.

p.s. don't forget to clean off your finger marks before heating it up the first time. i specifically asked the dealer to do this and guess what? i now have prints burned into my pipe. they are invisible until they get heated up and burned in!

I have just fitted a Staintune compleat system and the clamps come with it and are stainles very good

Well, not the complete system but the collector box and clamps are included.
WITH Staintune's logo on them I might add.

Even with the stock can it do bark a bit, 'specially on trailing throttle.

The Staintune can is a little smaller and should alow the removel of the wheel with it in place it is half the weight of original and is not to loud unles you remove the removable end baffel (one allen screw) surprisingly the bike seams to make better power with it in. The chrome finish is nowhere near as good as the BMW can as it scratched whilst I was cleaning it with a plastic scoring pad, I used to use industrial steel wool on the BM one.I have also fitted a ULTIMAP eprom to match the system and together it is a worth while inprovment. If you go to Moto One web sit and get into service and then performance you will find what Brad has done to a R1150R with all the dyno runs it is very interresting .

Oh dear...well, good news and bad news, mate!
That chrome doesn't clean well with a pad because it's polished stainless.
It'll polish right up again.

I've seen that dyno site and wondered about the eprom but I'll be damned if I can find a listing for 1150R on FIM site or CBT the US distributor. Must be blind.

But actually I was wondering about the backfiring on trailing throttle with the Staintune.

Has the eprom eliminated or improved that?
