Oh! Duh. I guess you blacked-out the cylinder head itself. That's why it looks cool... thanks.

Pardon me if it's answered elsewhere but what kind of cylinder head guards are on your bike?

Re: A photo I thought you might appreciate

Isn't it painful to shift in bare toes (or even just to think about your pregnant spouse falling off and getting sandpapered or worse)? Or is this just sucker bait for a guy like me who won't even test ride around the block after changing the oil without gearing up? I assume the bike was in motion ...

A photo I thought you might appreciate

It was torture trying to get this to embed with flickr so I gave up and used Photobucket. I hope it works. Just thought you guys might appreciate this photo. We have an 11 week old now but this was around the 7 month mark. There are a couple more cool ones... Details if this actually posts. -Sunny h...

Re: Getting title from seller of my r1200r

The resolution: Well, I have the title in hand. Fedex'd as promised. In the end, once I spoke to him, the seller was profoundly apologetic and had some pretty reasonable excuses for how this slipped through the cracks. He has post-dated the sale date himself on the title but since the registration h...

Re: Getting title from seller of my r1200r

Hi, thanks again for all the advice. This week is the test. I got hold of the seller and he explained a process that made sense with many details which I will spare you unless you all want them. I have to take some serious blame here and I'm sort of ashamed of it but since it may help someone here s...

Re: Getting title from seller of my r1200r

Thanks everyone... the first couple responses scared me straight. I put in a call to the seller and he called back. Said he would get it to me in the next several days. Had some pretty reasonable sounding excuses and profuse apologies. Of course, I can't rely on that. I'll keep you posted. Got a rid...

Re: Getting title from seller of my r1200r

Just FYI if anyone else ever needs the info: BMW Financial is 800-578-5000 and, while pleasant, understandably cannot discuss the seller's account with a third party. They won't even say if the bike has been paid off or not. Hey, worth a try.

Re: Getting title from seller of my r1200r

Thanks to you both for the advice. Yes, I do have a receipt. I just put in a call to the seller and left a message and another email. Reading back on the email chain it looks like he told me BMW sent it to the wrong address and it was returned to sender. They were to send it to the right address and...

Getting title from seller of my r1200r

Hi, Looking for some advice. I bought a used 2010 R about 6 months ago still under warranty from a private seller. It had about 5000 miles and I've put several thousand miles on it since then. It's also had it's first service. I love the bike. I left my Ducati for this BMW and I've been so happy abo...

Re: 2011's are here!

I sat on that same bike today. It does have the comfort seat I have on my 2010. And, a sticker on the tank (lots of stickers on the bikes to tell you the setup of each bike) said simply "standard seat" for what that's worth.

Burly sound with a less expensive exhaust mod?

Any opinions out there about basic exhaust options? I'm looking for a little education about it. My last bike was much less awesome than my R12R but the exhaust note was much funner. I don't want to blast any eardrums but I would really like to rev the engine to get the attention of the person on th...

Re: Happy, happy. Joy, joy....

Excellent. Congratulations. I know it's an R forum and all that but it really is a great bike. I bought my 2010 with 4000 more miles so good work. It never fails to impress me how long someone can own a motorcycle and not ride it. I really like that gray color too. Have fun.

eBay may actually be safer than other methods unless you buy local. It has some fraud protections. I bought mine there. A lot of them are still warrantied etc..

eBay has a one or two for sale too. There's an 07 with no reserve there now.
