This morning I noticed my hi-beam is out. I hit the autoparts store during lunch and found the right replacement, but before I tear into this, I was reading the manual and they say to disconnect and insulate the ground from the battery.
I assume is the small, "3rd" wire connected to the battery posts? By insulate do they mean make sure it doesn't touch anything else while it's disconnected?
It seems pretty straight forward, I had the headlight apart looking at it (and it didn't fall apart going down the road after lunch), but I don't want electrical problems.

Re: R1100R Headlamp Question
I'm not sure what the directions say, but it's sensible common practice to take the battery offline before you start working with the electrical system. This would include bulb replacing tasks...
