bono, from your questions I'm assuming you have no manual. There is no master idle screw such as you'd find on carburetors. The bike is fuel injected and there twin throttle bodies. One on each side. These have to be synchronized at idle and at increased RPMs.

There is a really good tutorial on the ADVRicer forum and probably several discussions here some place if you can find them.

You'll need a TwinMax or other synchronizing tool to do this. But anyway, in the process of synchronizing at idle, you adjust the idle RPMs with the same Big Brass Bypass screws on each throttle body. It sounds more complicated than it really is.

Read up on TB synching in the other forums and it will get you much farther ahead than me trying to explain it here. If you can't find those articles then just ask here again and we'll work through it for you.

...and it will save you a bunch of $$$, and you will get to know your bike on a first name basis.

If you run into any problems, there are experienced pros here that can answer your questions...I'm not one of them...I just muddle along the best I can...

I have average 12K miles / year.
Here' my tally:
Dealer ship Maint.
o $375 / 6K dealer maint service
o $425 per 12K maint. + yearly maint. service

Personal Maint.
o Oil(s) + filters : $100

Gas: I average about 35 MPG at ~$2.70/gallon (Califonia) $925 for gas

Tires 2 sets + mounting: $600

Average cost per mile:
o With Dealer service: $0.20 / mile
o With own service: $0.14 / mile

As a comparison: my car comsumes: 25 MPG
Cost of oil change: $100 (Benz, every 10K mi)

Please be sure to have some box fans blowing on the cylindars when you have the engine running for maintanence. These engines will over heat before you know what happened.
