Re: Fender or License Plate Extender
Peter, there is a tab called 'Img' above the message box - you click on the tab and insert the link to your photo between the tags that appear in your message. However, first you need to upload your image to something like Photobucket to create the link to insert. Alternatively you could email photo...

New - Acerbis Hand Guards for R1200R
Nippy Normans now offer Acerbis Hand Protectors specifically for our bikes - I know a few people have mentioned trying to fit generic Acerbis guards in the past. I would have gone for these if they were available rather than having to modify GS ones. I think they look pretty smart. (Thanks to Peter ...

Re: Fender or License Plate Extender
Hi Peter - good to have another Brit onboard (there aren't many of us!) Thanks for the tip on the NN Acerbis Hand Protectors - I will post a new topic regarding these as I don't think they've been mentioned on the forum before and are probably of interest to a few people. It would be gerat if you co...

Re: New Product For our Bikes
I've now received my 'Accelerator' from Belgium (I'm in the UK) - looking forward to fitting when the weather picks up (it's snowing here again this week) Based on recent reviews posted on UKGser it seems everyone who's fitted this to their 1200GS has noticed a real improvement, particularly in smoo...

Re: Tire Pressure with a Light Load
The OE Conti Road Attacks on my UK bike didn't last long at all - I only got 2500 from the rear before it 'squared off'. The bike then failed it's MOT because the front had worn (but just on the right side ?) & needed replacing at just over 3000 miles! I do ride quite hard but I thought that was...

Re: New Product For our Bikes
I looked through a dozen or more pages from the link provided, but couldn't find a dyno run. I remember people saying that they could feel more power with those "split fire" spark plugs, then someone did a dyno run and found out different. I think I'd rather put the $$$ towards a power co...

Re: New Product For our Bikes
I've read through the (very long) thread on UKGSuser regarding these gizmos - interesting to see that the initial comments mentioning 'snake oil' give way to people actually buying and fitting these things. Pretty much everyone says they do feel a 'seat of the pants' difference in feel/driveability ...

Re: New Member saying Hello, and looking for a bike
It’s definitely a hard bike to find in the UK – there don’t seem to be many about. It would be interesting to know how many UK owners are registered with this site! I managed to get mine off Ebay last October (glad you weren’t looking then as there probably would have been a bidding war!) Managed to...

Torque values for rocker covers?
I've just had my 1st service and have noticed oil on the bottom of the rocker covers, looks like it could be leaking from the gasket or the bolts. I just want to check that the mechanic tightened the bolts to the correct torque, so if anyone's got a service manual can you let me know?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Touratech Windscreen Spoiler
I have just been on my first ride out with a Touratech windscreen spoiler fitted. I have the BMW touring screen fitted as standard and found that the windblast at over 80mph was too much. I have considered ‘higher’ screens eg Cee Baileys but they are very expensive here in the UK and I’m not sure I ...

Re: My 2006 R1200R has only covered 295 miles!
Thanks for the advice guys - I must admit I have found it hard to keep to 4000 and keep finding myself at 5000 but I've been nowhere near the redline yet! I've also kept away from long fast roads and stuck to the backroads and villages to keep the speed & revs varied. Unfortunately I don't know ...

Re: My 2006 R1200R has only covered 295 miles!
Hi Phil, I'm in South Wales. Yes, I've noticed that there aren't many R1200R riders in the UK - it's one of the many reasons why I decided to buy - a bit of exclusivity! For example, if you look at the online MCN ads there are only 4 R1200Rs for sale. On the other hand there are 49 GS1200s For some ...

My 2006 R1200R has only covered 295 miles!
Hi everyone - first post by a new R1200R owner. I'm in the UK and bought the bike off Ebay about 4 weeks ago. And as the title says - the bike is coming up to its 2nd birthday and the previous owner only put 295 miles on the clock. Must be a record! Needless to say it's in 'as new' condition - only ...
