I took a 200 mile jaunt (round trip) this morning and I am pleased to report that the seat performed extremely well. I had been suffering from two things with the stock seat that seem to have all but disappeared now. After about 60-ish miles on the stock seat, my legs would start to cramp up (espec...

I think the entire Gulf Coast can be a challenging place to ride. In the New Orleans area we don't have the oldsters as you do, but we do have the heat and the BAD streets and bugs. OT a little. What is the best summer pants for our climates? I am looking for something that is cool, but protective....

Yes, you can retro fit your bike with the jumping post. It is an easy fix. I did it to my '02 without a problem. If you do a search, you can get the part numbers, I don't have the list anymore, I don't think. I'll double check, and if I do, I'll post them. It costs somewhere around $50 for all of th...

Re: Model Year Location
Hi everyone! I'm obviously new here. I've tried the search engine for my query but couldn't find an answer. Can anyone tell me where on the r 1150 r I can find the year it was manufactured (model year)? The seller says it's a 2002 model and I just want to make sure it is. Thanks a lot for the help....

Re: The Male Thought Process.........I don't get it.
...I’m wondering why would a guy say something like that and make a big scene out of it? Two words : Clueless and Insensitive We're not all like that  I agree. The reason that I started riding was because a couple of friends of mine sort of talked me into it. They were both female ride...

I am extremely satisfied with my Rick Mayer seat. Good build quality, excellent materials, very comfy. On my other bike I had a Russel, also very nice, but about twice the cost. For the money, the Rick Mayer is a much much better deal. For even money, it would be close. Rick's dad is the one that de...

Michael, I had a Russell on my RT, loved it greatly, long, long rides were no problem. I have a Rick Mayer on my '50R, just got back from a 3 day, 1200 mile trip, no problems here, either. I would highly recomend either one, the Mayer being about half the cost of a Russell. I have the rear, metalize...

Aeroflow Tank Wings
Has anyone tried these? Or use them? I was wondering if they work even close to the claim. Looks like a good idea, though.

With these and the lower deflectors, you can be even closer to an RT-lite!

Front brake pads rattling?!?
I do realize that the front brake pads are not tight against the rotor when no brake pressure is applied, however, should they be so loose as to make a rattling noise while riding? I have been hearing this for a couple of weeks now, at first couldn't pinpoint the noise. It is the front brake pads. T...

I have just bought some of these and they are excellent and look good too. http://tinyurl.co.uk/xg5r Mike[/img] I recently got some virtually identical to those, from Twisted Throttle. It appears that they are about $180? Is that US$? I got them for about $90US. They look good and work as well as t...
