Go here:

Look up the Image gallery and you will see my Rockster with a shield that pops off with four wing screws. It is under the BMW R1150R image.Mark made me a fly screen, of aluminum, that serves as a windshield mount and a hot weather screen. It works well.

Clutch slippage

'04 Rockster..............11200 mi. Riding home yesterday, 6th. gear, nailed the throttle to pass and as the rpm's increased............ the clutch was slipping. Tried it a couple more times with the same result? Bike was hot after 135 mile ride. Recently laid down but seemed ok after that episode. ...

Re: Headlight bulb replacement

I have one in the high beam side. A super white Halogen. It costs 21 dollars US, so I replaced the low beam side with a conventional because it is on all the time. The Halogen lasts only 1/3 as long also. With the high beam at night, I see just great................

Re: Headlight bulb replacement

Never mind.I figured it out. FYI..... unplug the connector in back. Twist off the plastic housing if you can and the bulb is accesable. I took off the nacelle and eyebrow, removed two large screws, holding the headlights in place and could then easly get the plastic housing off. It's tough to do fro...

Front tire wear

Just returned from a road trip and noticed that the front tire (Dunlop Road Smart) has a LOT of wear on the left side. I noticed a couple of other BMW's had similar wear on their front tires as well. One of them had low pressure but mine and the other had propper pressure. Any ideas? Distance covere...

Re: Sargent seat on the Rockster

I have the Sargent on my Rock with OEM pillion. Never take a passenger so use a color matched tail piece.Putting the OEM on and off is no problem.I use that seat when I run a tail pack. Have a Corbin on my R1100 and in my humble opinion the Sargent is the better of the two.

Re: Horn relay question

Well ok, thanks for that. I disconnected the horn and removed it but after looking at it, decided to put it back on until I buy a relay and fuse. There is 12V on the connector when I turn on the key and press the button but the damn thing does not work at all now! Tried WD 40 on the connector but no...

Horn relay question

Can someone with a manual tell me if there is a relay in the horn circuit of my '04 Rockster? I want to install an air horn that draws mucho or so amps and don't want to melt the wiring. The connector on the existing "feeble" horn looks as if the wires are mighty small! TIA :?

Re: Trickle Charger Green Status Light

I believe the charger is faulty. Return it to the dealer and they should make it right under the circumstances. You can check it out by attaching it to a car battery and see if the light goes green. Was that the original battery in your '03? I have an '04 and it came with a gel battery and is still ...

Re: R1100 Remus exhaust

I think it sounds great! Others have commented on it's low throaty bark. I don't think a standard bag will fit with this pipe. I have the detachable Motec QL racks with the Givi 41 liter side cases. They stick out kinda far but are huge and I remove them except when traveling. They work good for me....

Re: Brake drag

Well the problem was a brake pad hanging up in the caliper on the right side. Solution: Undoing/removing the torx bolts holding the caliper and "rocking" the caliper while on the rotor. I felt the pad pop back into the caliper. Rotating the wheel by hand now exhibits very little drag. =D>

Re: Jump starting directly to the starter...

The parts to add the aux. stud for jumping are available from BMW and not expensive. You can jump your bike by removing the plastic cover over the starter and hooking the positive lead directly to it. Find a bare bolt head somewhere for the ground.
