You're correct. And, from personal experience, there is no problem transferring the warranty to you. I got my slightly used 04 in 04. And the warranty, which has been honored for recalls, will run out this summer. Switching required nothing more involved than a phone call to BMW.

Okay. I feel a lot better now. Mine is not the only 1150R to lie down on the job. But after I dropped mine, I could not get it back up. A guy even older than me drove up, stopped and asked if I needed a leg. Yeah, he said leg. He meant hand. And it seemed to take both of us to get the bike vertical ...

Seems like a neat idea, but a $50 led?

It is terrific. Works great. But beware of the installation instructions if it is going into a late model 1150R. The illustration is not accurate.
