I have to say that that bag just turns me OFF. Completely.
I admire the concept and it's a good one - but the execution is just crap. The shape is ok - but the concertina'd fabric on the lower part, and the fastening systems just look really 2nd hand and home-made... it's a pity because I'd be very close to getting one if it DIDN'T have the concertina'd fabric and had a hidden mounting system.

I like this bag better. Had it on my Rockster since I brought her home, works really well:

I leave the pillion seat off and put the bag on the 'luggage plate.'

Fastbag
The Fastbag, is on sale for $250 (in choice of 5 colors), from
http://www.a-motorcycle-acc.com/Fastbag.htm
(in Texas in case you were wondering). Kind of a neat idea, but it doesn't look as if it holds much more than a tank bag.
For more info, just google "Fastbag".

This is how I mounted it to the silver cargo plate. I just looped the elastic around the corners. That way the grommets that are attatched to the four corners of the bag are hidden under the plate when it's locked in place. It can't come off the bike unless you unlock the plate! Of course it can still be zipped open, but I just use it for holding my hat and water bottle and running errands. Perfect for when you don't wan't to hook up the saddle bags.

That's actually really nice!!!Nakigara wrote:I have to agree with lionlady, the Chicane Summit Tailbag is a very good bag for the price. $80
hmmmmmm - is it waterproof enough to survive 3 hours of winter downpour??
I'm NOT happy with the dorky stretch cord and snap clips that came with the bag to hold it on. The bag moves too much and the clips don't fit well under the plate.
I've had the bag on my bike for 3 months and realized that the plastic D-rings on the bag have started to wear the plastic side panels. I cut them OFF. Still trying to come up with a more secure way to fasten the bag to the panel... I'm thinking that velcro may be the answer, cause anything with buckles makes the plate too hard to latch down.
Already shaved the rubber washers from the latch mechanism, so the panel is less of a PITA to lock down. But I gotta take some more off I think.

Riceburner, the bag comes with a built in rainfly. You just pull it out of the pocket and wrap it up like a Thanksgiving turkey. I agree with you Lionlady, the stretch cords are pretty cheezy. I'm looking for an alternative, any ideas?
P.S.
No I do not work for Chicane. I just enjoy their products.
