my rockster is next to the zx, looking a bit forlorn and feeling usurped. it's for sale now, it's a real shame i can't keep them both. it's not that i don't like the rockster - it's the practical things of storage space and funds.

tax disk holder
mine's on the front of my left cylinder head and is looking a bit shabby. it was probably shiny psuedo chrome when new. i'll be re-newing my tax tomorrow and will have a look for a better holder - but then thought that i bet some people on here know what's best... so where's it best to mount said ho...

will this fit do you know?
i've managed to damage my front mudguard - rather foolishly - and spotted this: r1100s mudguard on ebay but having looked up the part numbers it seems that the rockster mudguard is 46617670396 but the r1100s is 46617677416. does anyone happen to know if the r1100s mudguard will fit my rockster witho...

what's that coming over the hill?
is it a rockster? well this week it was a fireblade actually. i've never ridden a litre sportsbike before and just to sit on it i felt like a racer and then boy did it move! i had to take my rockster out today to make sure it didn't find it's way onto ebay in order to join the sportsbike masses.... ...

what was it do you know? a simple lack of sales? i read in this months bike magazine that there's big discounts to be had on the k1200r - so they reasoned that as bmw don't generally do deals it must be a slow mover. seems like too much coincidence to be unrelated. there was a printed a4 sheet in th...

i rode to spc yesterday to obtain a price for a replacement front mudguard. when i arived there was a van there emptying out the last vestiges of the showroom - they've gone into liquidation (i was told). so now my nearest dealer is over 50 miles away. they're to auction off their held stock and wor...

cheers for the info. dj - whereabouts are you? i stayed in elwood for 8 months or so. visited geelong and followed the fruit about as the season moved so saw a good few smaller towns too, buggered if i can remember any names now though. they all seemed to have overly large graveyards with many fresh...

i have the rails but not the panniers and have been looking on ebay for a while but there's so many? they all look pretty similar when reduced to a 2-3 inch jpg too.
does anyone have a simple guide as to which panniers will fit the rockster please?

unklian welcome. the rockster is a great bike so let's hope that the shocking price you've paid for these components doesn't sour your opinion.... i have read more than once (but never put into practice for myself as i've not yet had to) that warped disks are a very very uncommon problem. the 'warpi...

if, as jon says, the rockster is so similar to the gs that it could be a gs variant, then why do the bike press rave so much about the gs and either ignore or slate the rockster? bike magazine has been less than complimentry about the r1200r roadster this month too - so it doesn't look likely the pr...

what a brilliant answer! i thought you'd get the usual 10 word (maybe 2 line) affairs when i was reading your question - not that! all credit to you boxermania. as quality as one of jon's answers! my local guy changed my front without marking it. my rear came pre-changed and marked - and when i aske...

thanks for the suggestions. in my world cleaning is with a polish on the end of a cloth wrapped around my right hand index finger. my mer polish leaves my calipers especially looking rather 'whited.' i don't know how to make them look black and naturally clean looking. and my exhaust headers are sta...

cleaning products?
well i've owned mine for a few months now and cleaned it a few times too - but my mer polish leaves a few surfaces with quite a bit to be desired.
so what's good for? - tank, black plastic bodywork behind the tank, calipers, exhaust headers and air intake hoses?
cheers - paul

i have michelin pilot sports on mine at the moment - seems a rather strange choice (by the previous owner) to me but they're great in the dry and heat up loads. very sticky, but not tried them out in the wet yet (as our summer has been surprisingly good) previous bike had bt020 tyres which were good...
