Re: Condolences, please

:( Thats a crappy little tale. I am sorry that happened slowtorque. Take another look, maybe it is there somewhere. Even if you need to replace the lid, it would still be cheaper.

Ride to think...

The school year is ending, another year has passed. All of the 1/4ly reports come due, all IEP meetings get crammed together and every second of time is filled with paperwork. The search for summer work begins to weigh on my fractured mind, long days indeed. My thinking begins to get foggy. I can't ...

A perfect ride

There’s This Place Some people find it through reading, some people get there by listening to music, some use work to get there, but everyone has a place… To take myself for a ride, to trust my life to my own skills, to ride a motorcycle to distant places and meet new people, my place is in the sadd...

Long Cold Winter…

I am just like most of you, I have a mortgage, bills, work and family obligations, the list is long indeed. For those of you who live where the roads never freeze, today I envy you. My beloved machine is in the solitary confinement of my garage. My driveway is lined on both sides by banks of snow pl...

Few rides left...

Trees are starting to change color; the morning air has a little sting to it. I parted the atmosphere with my chin for the better part of the day today, my boxer humming its tourquey symphony beneath me, my girlfriend holding me tight and pointing at the scenery of Skyline Trail road in Russell Mass...

I find after winter storage my brakes are noisy. I removed the pads and scuffed them with sandpaper. I also scuff the rotors. This seems to eliminate the noise with no side effects at all. Are your brakes dragging? This can cause glazing as well. If they are, try changing the brake fluid and cleanin...

Oilhead, I would try the "max" setting on your preload, don't forget to match the front with the back. I am 215 naked, full leathers and boots add a few more. I looked at the setting last night, I am on max. On long trips, the "hard" setting is no pleasure, especialy combined wit...

I don't know about the rest of you, my R1150 r wheelies just fine in first gear. If you shift with the front wheel up, the bike jerks hard to the right, I don't recommend it. Set your preload hard, when it is soft, the bike squats too much. I have been stopped by the law performing such an act; the ...

I have hit my ctr stand in a lefty, never on a right turn. I am 6'1 about 215 lbs, my preload is set to almost max "hard." My Avons sport no chicken strips whatsoever, I have never dragged a peg. My ctr stand hit when the bike was hard in the corner, a quick dip or long smooth pothole type...

Heck, don't sell her!!! Great wisdom has been acquired by people on motorcycles. I meditate, relieve stress and sooth my soul in the saddle. I would never give that up due to the risk of a crash! Some people spend years in therapy, not to mention all of that money to get what we (riders) have right ...

I love this machine, I can see I am not alone. I have been on Honda 1000RR, a Hyabusa, and many other sport bikes. They do handle better, and accelerate better, but the sacrifice seems to be everything else. These bikes seem to do everything well. I can ride all day with a weeks worth of needs, see ...

What is it with these bikes?

I went for a ride last week to untie the knots a work week can tie. I headed up route 20 (in western MA), past Huntington, Becket, Lee, Lenox etc... it is a great twisty road with long sweepers, tight twistys and tons of great scenery. I was looking at this great scenery drifting away stresses such ...

Hey Erik, I have a 02 (black) Roady also. I have the Mr. Pockets Marsee bag, with magnetic mounts. I love it, tons of room and easy to reach pockets. I got mine right up the street from you at Moto Market in Maynard on 119. The owner (Paul) will let you try the fit on your bike before you buy it. It...

Hey everyone, I fixed the problem. The BMW hose clamps leave much to be desired!! I had one fail last year that soaked my right leg with fuel, this time one failed inside the fuel tank. The hose that is connected to the fuel filter let go, this provided enough fuel to trick me into thinking all was ...

Hi all, I am new here. I have been riding for 16 years, this is my first Beemer. I bought the bike 2 years ago, I do most of the maintenance myself. I sure hope there is a simple thing I missed and will be forever embarrassed. She is a 2002 R1150r. I put her away late fall, took a spin in the middle...
