...by a seriously inattentive driver. 10 mph maybe, signalling right with my turn signal AND hand signal. Moved over to the left side of my lane to sweep into the cycle parking lot (it's sort of a right turn into a sidewalk cutout, progressing into a U-turn heading the opposite direction from traffic). Screeching brakes, and an old cutlass supreme just avoids hitting my right rear quarter by inches. I think she was trying to pass me on the right and then I "cut her off". I get up on the sidewalk, look over, and driver is waving her arms and yelling at me! I calmly pointed to my turn signal, which was still blinking. She peeled off in a fit of cigarette smoke.
Don't know what I could've done differently.

I had a similar incident happen Saturday. Out for a ride with a friend driving down the middle lane staggered behind my buddy. A lady in a navigator decides she doesn't want to slow down for the car in front of her that is turning and so calmly moves over on top of me.
My friend and I were doing slightly over the 35 indicated so when she made her move, I was right off her drivers door. I ended up on the white stripes between the lane I was in and the one next to me...
I was on the horn the whole time and the throttle after that. Evidently our stock horn is loud enough to be heard over a Harley, but too quiet to break concentration of an inattentive driver. O_o Always have to ride like everyone is trying to kill you and no one sees you... On the plus side she stayed at least 20 lengths behind us after that...
