Interesting boots Phil. Let us know how they work out!
My own next boot choice is made already. I love my Sidi On-Roads, with the sole complaint being not enough ankle protection. Completely waterproof and comfortable. And now, the new and improved On-Roads have added hardened ankle and shin protection, so I don't have to buy Ricky Racer boots for the additional protection!

A few years ago, I was visiting my brother, who conveniently lives near Bob's BMW in Maryland. They have a great dealership and a good selection of clothing, accessories, etc. Good thing I don't visit there alone too often.
Anyway, I was looking for a good pair of waterproof boots. I tried on all the brands they have, such as Sidi, BMW, Alpinestars, etc. For me, the Alpinestars felt the best, and I have not regretted the choice. They continue to be very comfortable boots, and they also have good protection and are waterproof.
Boots and helmets are a very personal choice because of fit. I suggest you find some place you can try them on if possible.
