Got the fever.....

Post by NHighCotton »

..dare I say......for a Jap bike

Anyone tried the ZX-14 or the ZZR 1400??

Always liked the style of these two bikes but can't handle the riding position, so I think? Haven't ridden either so I really can't say.

Found a used ZZR that I'm tempted to test ride and have also been seriously thinking about and stashing cash back awaiting the new GTR1400 Concours.

So, can I get a real life comparison between the R1150R and the Green Meanie's from riders of the two?

Can't help with real experience there.....

But isn't this comparing apples with iguanas?

Even the new Concours seems pretty far afield from the Roadster.

Yea, maybe so.
Surprised a former rider hasn't commented but then again BMW riders are somewhat unique and shy away from the norm.

Also considering the ZZR is covered rather than naked, has 50 more hp along with about 50 more pounds in a 2" shorter wheelbase I suppose it is quite different, not to mention being chain drive with several more valves to adjust, or have a shop to adjust rather.

I'm just thinking of the smoothness of this motor and something different than another beemer. The Concours might be it if you don't cook behind the fairing.

I really like the 1150R but I'm beginning to feel the rough edges and it's only been 2K miles since the last valve adjustment.
I wanting something smoother.
