mabuhay! warmest greetings to all from the philippines!

recently got my 04 r1150r (black) and would like to add original system cases. got a friend from germany who's willing to purchase the items for me, but i can't seem to find the product numbers anywhere in the web (not looking at the right places, perhaps). will appreciate any help.

also, my wunderlich crash guards for the RR just arrived, but the installation instructions are in deutsch. e-mailed wunderlich for an english version but got no reply so far. same appreciation for any help, guys.

I believe you can find the part #s you need by going to my dealer's site:

and clicking on "Online Catalog" on the home page. They have a complete "parts fiche" where you can search parts and numbers. This assumes, of course, that the part # is the same in the US and Europe. But give it a try...

Greetings Bonehead.
In case you don't already know, you need the mounting brakets for the system cases. You also need a lock set, badges and reflectors. These are all sold seperately in the US; that may not be the case world wide. I'd advise getting the codeable lockset so that you can use your ignition key. There are some excellent posting on how to key these and install them on this and other web sites.

I think these are the part numbers - they're from an '03 catalogue but I think they are the same for '04.
Left case - 46 54 2 317 623(this is the small case for use with the standard upswept silencer)
Right case - 46 54 7 660 300
Mounting bracket - 71 60 2 316 727
Codeable lock cylnder set - 51 25 337 270 (need 2)
BMW badge - 46 54 2 300 045 (need 2)
Reflector - 46 54 2 300 047 (need 2)

If you have a way to get things from the States to the Phillipines, Chicago BMW gives a 20% discount on their stuff.

I *may* be able to help with the xlation, if I can get a copy (via scan or ... ?) ... my German is a bit rusty but install instructions should be do-able...

I think i have enough sites to check out. But i do have a funny feeling that a product no. not only differs from continent to continent, but from dealer to dealer within a continent, as well. I'll just have to find out...

Guten Tag Herr Nachtritter (that's all the German I know). I guess I have to give you some work here. There's just no response from Wunderlich... I had to re-type the instructions 'coz I have no access to a scanner. So umlauts may be missing and some spelling may be awry. Good luck and many thanks in advance! (if you give up, don't worry, i'll understand)

Artikel: Sturzbugel R1150R

1. Stellen Sie das Motorrad auf den Seitenstander.
2. Demontieren Sie die Sitzbanke und die Seiten
verkleidungen. Legen Sie einen Lappen, zum Schutz vor Kratzern, im Bereich der Fahrersitzbank uber das Motorrad.
3. Demontieren Sie die Olkuhlerverkleidung sowie den Olkuhler mit Gehause. (2 Schrauben oben, 1 Schraube unten)
Trennen Sie die Benzinleitungskupplungen und demontieren Sie die Tankbefestigungsschraube. Stellen Sie nun den Tank auf den Fahrerplatz. Siehe Bild (A) (Achten Sie auf einen sicheren Halt des Tanks.)
4. Decken Sie die Teleleverschwinge mit Kreppband o.a.
ab um Kratzer zu vermeiden.
5.Feuhren Sie den Sturzbeugel auf der rechten Seite euber den Telelever. Schieben Sie ihn dann mit einer Drehbewegung uber die Linke Seite des Telelevers.
(es ist moglich, dass die Auspuffschelle gedreht werden muss) Siehe Bild (B + C)
6. Nun konnen Sie die Beiden oberen Schrauben
(ohne U. Scheibe) und die untere Schraube
(M10 mit U scheiben und Mutter) anschrauben, aber noch nicht festziehen. Siehe Bild (D + E)
7. Hangen Sie nun die Feder des Hauptstanders aus und losen Sie die Inbusschraube am Hauptstanderhalter. (zuerst nur eine Seite) Siehe Bild (F + G)
8. Stecken Sie nun den Stopfen in das vordere Ende der Zusatzstrebe und befestigen Sie diese mit den Original Inbusschrauben am Hauptstanderhalter und mit den beiliegenden Schrauben, Muttern und U.-Scheiben am Sturzbugel, ziehen Sie diese jedoch noch nicht fest an. Siehe Bild (H)
9. Wiederholen Sie den letzten Schritt auf der anderen Seite.

Ziehen Sie nun alle Schrauben fest an, hangen Sie die Feder des Hauptstanders wieder ein, entfernen Sie das Kreppband und montieren Sie alle demontierten Teile in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wieder. (Schritt 3 bis 1)

Sie sollten die Schrauben nach einer Probefahrt und nach ca. 100 km nochmals uberprufen und ggf. nachziehen.

I'll give it my best shot! My comments in [brackets]. I had the most trouble with step 8... hopefully the picture helps describe what they are talking about. Also, some of the wording may seem funny, only because I was relatively literal in some cases.
Artikel: Sturzbugel R1150R

1. Place motorcycle on side stand.
2. Demontieren Sie die Sitzbanke und die Seiten
verkleidungen. Legen Sie einen Lappen, zum Schutz vor Kratzern, im Bereich der Fahrersitzbank uber das Motorrad.
2. Remove seats and side panels. Lay a rag (cloth, towel), to protect from scratches, in the area of the seat mounting area, over the motorcycle.
3. Demontieren Sie die Olkuhlerverkleidung sowie den Olkuhler mit Gehause. (2 Schrauben oben, 1 Schraube unten)
Trennen Sie die Benzinleitungskupplungen und demontieren Sie die Tankbefestigungsschraube. Stellen Sie nun den Tank auf den Fahrerplatz. Siehe Bild (A) (Achten Sie auf einen sicheren Halt des Tanks.)
3. Unmount the oil cooler covers. (2 screws/bolt above, 1 screw/bolt below) [I'm not clear if the oil coolers need to be removed as well]. Disconnect the fuel coupling and remove the bolt holding the fuel tank. Now place the tank on the driver's seat area. See Picture (A). (Be certain the tank is sitting securely.)
4. Decken Sie die Teleleverschwinge mit Kreppband o.a.
ab um Kratzer zu vermeiden.
4. Cover the telelever swingarm with masking tape or similar in order to avoid scratching.
5.Feuhren Sie den Sturzbeugel auf der rechten Seite euber den Telelever. Schieben Sie ihn dann mit einer Drehbewegung uber die Linke Seite des Telelevers.
(es ist moglich, dass die Auspuffschelle gedreht werden muss) Siehe Bild (B + C)
5. Guide the crash bar from the right side over the telelever. With a twisting motion, push it over the left side of the telelever. (It is possible that the exhaust clamp / bracket may need to be rotated). See picture (B+C).
6. Nun konnen Sie die Beiden oberen Schrauben
(ohne U. Scheibe) und die untere Schraube
(M10 mit U scheiben und Mutter) anschrauben, aber noch nicht festziehen. Siehe Bild (D + E)
6. Now you can attach, but do not tighten, both upper bolts (without washers) and the lower bolt (M10 with washer and nut). See picture (D+E).
7. Hangen Sie nun die Feder des Hauptstanders aus und losen Sie die Inbusschraube am Hauptstanderhalter. (zuerst nur eine Seite) Siehe Bild (F + G)
Release the spring from the center stand and loosen/remove the Allen bolt at the center stand bracket. (First only one side) See pictures (F+G)
8. Stecken Sie nun den Stopfen in das vordere Ende der Zusatzstrebe und befestigen Sie diese mit den Original Inbusschrauben am Hauptstanderhalter und mit den beiliegenden Schrauben, Muttern und U.-Scheiben am Sturzbugel, ziehen Sie diese jedoch noch nicht fest an. Siehe Bild (H)


8. Insert the peg in the forward end of the accessory brace and fasten this with the original Allen bolt to the center stand bracket, and with the enclosed bolts, nuts and washers at the crash bars; do not tighten them yet. See picture (H).

9. Wiederholen Sie den letzten Schritt auf der anderen Seite.


9. Repeat the last step for the other side.

Ziehen Sie nun alle Schrauben fest an, hangen Sie die Feder des Hauptstanders wieder ein, entfernen Sie das Kreppband und montieren Sie alle demontierten Teile in umgekehrter Reihenfolge wieder. (Schritt 3 bis 1)


Now tighten all the bolts, reconnect the spring of the center stand, remove the masking tape, and mount all the parts removed in reverse order (steps 3 through 1)

Sie sollten die Schrauben nach einer Probefahrt und nach ca. 100 km nochmals uberprufen und ggf. nachziehen.

Check and tighten the bolts after a test drive, and again after about 100km.
