Okay..... I've never seen this done, so I'm gonna post on a few MC message boards and see what kind of answers/responses/percentages I get.
I'm looking for three percentage figures when considering how much to sell a motorcycle part for. Consider also that as a consumer, what you might expect to pay for a used part. For instance, "60%, 40%, 20%".... shipping expenses should be assumed as over & above the purchase price:
1) The part is brand new, maybe it's been installed but it didn't work out, and the original packaging has been thrown away. Upon sale, what percentage of the original price can be expected in return for the item?
2) The part being sold is used, but it's either been modified (painted, powder coated, trimmed to fit, personalized, etc.) and/or it's in PERFECT condition, what percentage of the 'new' price would you expect to ask for AND get in return for it?
3) It's a well used part, might even have some blemishes, but it's intact. What percentage of the original price (a couple years ago) should a seller expect to ask for it?

Selling parts&stuff (%?)
Bikes is bikes, gotta love 'em!
Any 2nd hand part will sell for what people want to pay for it.
Most wreckers charge half new price for normal 2nd hand parts in good condition.
New parts as described may bring 75% of new price.
These parts are going to be looked at by a buyer as a bargain, so wont pay near new with no comeback like they would get from a dealer.
I think you ask what you believe is a fair price, and the demand will
dictate the final price.
