Bike Reviews

Post by Trapper »

Ladies & Gents, (or anyone else)

I have a whole bunch of UK motorcycle magazine road test reviews, in PDF format.
There are several that feature BMWs, and two that feature, respectively the r1150r and r850r. (There are loads of other too, but too many to list).

Unfortunately I can't find an easy way to share them with you. However, if someone could voluteer to host them on a machine that can be accessed via a hyperlink, you could all have a look. I could email them over, but you would need to be more technically savvy than me to set up the hosting.

They're from 2005 so may be a little dated, and I can't promise you'll like everything the magazine says about your beloved, but they're worth a read.

Any volunteers?

Cheers

Nice job Eddie! =D>

Hope they prove a worth while read for everyone.

They can be awkward to view on a small screen, but are manageable with careful use of the zoom functions.

Enjoy

Thanks guys! I second everything they said about the R1150R ... except for the seat. They claimed it had a gel insert and was very comfy!!!! The stock seat is/was the worst feature of this bike as far as I and a lot of others on this forum are concerned. It was usually the first thing to go. Now, I don't remember anything in the US bike magazine tests about a gel insert and I can certainly find no evidence of one. Is that something that didn't make it to the States?

The gel insert is a new one on me. Feels just like regular foam in my seat.
Had gel inserts in a push bike saddle and that felt very different.

Yep, I'm a BIKE subscriber & got these on the CD-ROM recently too.

They're not very complimentary about the 850R, but praise the 1150R for many of the same attributes! (comfort, looks, handling etc). Unsure as to how it could lose points on practicality too ...

I'm very wary of road-tests for that very reason, as it's all so subjective. As long as I like it though, it doesn't matter!
