anyone else watching this? Alton Brown--one of the main guys on the Food Network--and some of his buds are eating their way across the USofA at local joints. Transportation is by motorcycle--his is an RT. Interesting travelogue.
Back roads all the way complete with GPS data.

I watched 2 episodes in the background with the wife while reading. At our house it's either FoxNews or the Food Channel.
Alton's borderline impolite in dealing with strangers, even though it may have been rehearsed. Looks like he had a lot of very tasty, very unhealthy food. The R1200RT he's riding won Touring Bike of the Year in MotorCyclist Magazine for the 2nd year in a row.

I watched Alton last week as he rode his RT up to the front of one of his producers' homes and dismounted, wearing a one piece Aerostich suit, helmet and boots. He took off the helmet and entered the home. With the producer lady in tow he gave a tour of her house and kitchen, which BTW was the location of the show for the first season. After the first year he got a special studio built with all specially constructed appliances and cabinets for camera holes in the rear of each. Cool show. And you're right Robbie. That food DOES look good and rich. Fer'instance....avocado butter! Hmmmm!

I just watched this for the first time. I think it was a rerun, since they were just starting on the trip. I thought it was good. Sort of like traveling with a Bash group, minus the camera crew and interviews!

Kind of a neat idea but he seems 'rushed'. I rarely watch TV and when I do, it usually isn't the food channel - all that does is make me hungry for food I don't have. Anyway, I 'Tivo'd' the show so I should get all episodes. It seems more about the food and hardly any motorcycling, but a great way to bring ratings up using motorcyclists!

Yeah, I'll still watch it.

Some of my local riding buddies always eat at 'national chains' when we go riding, but I prefer to stop at the mom & pop type places, to get a taste of real cooking.
