Georgia Mountain Rally Slideshow

Post by Boxer »

Go to the BMWMOGA web site and click on the link below the old airhead to see the GMR Rally slideshow I created for the site. Pretty cool huh?

I'm going to start making all my rides in this slideshow format. It's really easy with a free download of the program. The Bash photos, fer'instance would be nice with maybe some opera music in the background!

Very nice show. Did you attend or just assemble the photos?

...and what's with the rows of tents that were all the same?

Besides Helen, I thought I saw a few familiar faces from my roaming around the N. Ga/NC mts. last summer. Two more weeks and I'll be heading your way...

Which slide show software is being used?

I WAS in attendance. Rode over on Friday morning amidst threatening clouds, and later in the day..after I was securely entrenched...the clouds opened up for a spell. Friday night was wonderful, with coolish air and a great band to lull me to sleep for one of the best night's sleeping in a tent I have ever experienced. Saturday brought sunshine and many more riders for a total gathering of around 750 attendees.

The rows of tents is the new concept in Rally camping. Sherpa services provides the tents, and everything for a nominal fee at rallies around the country...or at least around here. I think they'll be at the national as well. So if you forget your tent, just rent a Sherpa.

The software I used for the slide show is Flash Slider, available on the web for purchase or use it with limited capabilities for free. It creates a big Flash file and a small HTML file to post on a web site.

Thanks for the show. I was there again this year and as you said, it was great. Highly recommended.
