Well, I finally got it over with. My first speeding ticket on my beloved R1150R; heck, the first speeding ticket in a looooong time. Of course, I was running a little late for a doctor's appointment, and the office is about 20+ miles from home. I had about 0.5 miles left when, coming over the hill, I saw about 38 moto-cops on Harleys. DOH!! I tried the old slow-down-and-act-like-you-have-never-sped-in-your-life thing, but that just didn't seem to work this time. He got me at 63 in a 45...even showed me back of his radar gun for proof. When he asked me for insurance and registration I nearly tinkled myself. I remembered where those items were, but they weren't on the scoot. He then proceeded to tell me how I have commited a misdemeanor, and that he can tow my scoot and have me taken away. Fortunately, he walked back to me and just gave me a ticket for my moving violation. No jail today! We then talked motorcycles for a bit - what he liked about the Harley, but what was better about BMWs. Not a bad guy - wish it had been a warning though
I don't think he intended to keep my license...I am hoping it was an accident. He didn't say he would be keeping it. Unfortunately, the address on the front was of my old address...so I am sure that I will never see it again.
Time to go wait in line and get a new one

The ticket was for $57ish, I think. I actually thought it would have been worse.

Sure could. My last stop was 72 in a 60. The guy said it would be $93. I did my usual polite groveling, and since he was riding an RT and had found a knowedgable ear to complain to about surging and dealer service, he let me go. Whew ! I generally have a real problem with being busted in traffic that flows at 75 to 80 in a 60mph zone, but there's no getting out of it legally. I'm trying to quit, but the bike really llikes to run up over 80, and it's a 55 mile round trip to work.
