02 R1150R Value
I own a 02 R1150R with ABS with quite a bit of upgrades
shocks
seat
exhaust
driving lights
tires
battery
Anybody sold such an animal lately. I may be selling and am wondering what is a realistic sales price I should expect from an ebay auction?

you'll do better by returning the bike to stock form and selling all the parts/accessories separately...
that's what i did and it worked out better than the complete price i had in mind. sell the bike first though, offer the prospective buyer first crack at the "goodies" of his/her liking, then sell the rest.

I agree with Rivi777. You will be better off if you remove the upgrades and sell them seperately.
I bought my 2002, last October for $5500. It was in flawless condition with 13k miles and included a Cee Bailey windshield, sport windshield, a cover, battery tender and Eclipse tank bag.
Without the accessories, I think that you will get somewhere between $5k and $5300.
If you leave the accessories on the bike, I would guesstimate $5300-$5500.
A large number of Ebay sales for motorcycles and cars are never consumated. It's one of the dirty little secrets of Ebay. More times than not, the buyer finds an excuse not to follow through so you are better off to list it on IBMWR.
Good luck!

Bought my 02 non-abs, 11k miles, last September for $6,500. USD, included Techlusion chip set, screen, new rear rubber, BMW tank bag, BMW system cases and liners, plus the entire shop manual printed and on CD.
Spent some extra shipping it across the country.
Bike was also in flawless condition, other than a small bit of road rash on the beak that's been touched up since then.

Your Beemer
Where are you located? What color? Have you placed an ad here yet? I'm looking, in Ohio. I've had my FJR1300 for two years now, and miss the Roadster horribly. FJR is sold, and an R1150R will be in my garage again soon.

Hey garyspolar - Nice to hear you might be returning to the cult!

'02 in black - the real BMW color! (Now gone to a new home)

As many of you may know, Bill Haycock (whaycok) just sold his red Roadster for $3,000 to a fellow BMW club member here in Georgia.
But this may skew the estimates. You see, Bill's bike had about 80,000 miles on it, but it WAS loaded. He had Works Performance shocks on it with a Parabellum shield and Jesse bags...among other stuff.
I think the reason he charged so little was he probably knew that it being red and not black it just wouldn't bring top dollar.

I'm quite irritated that I ever left. A very nice man in Oregon now owns my fully loaded 2002 ABS model. It's the best motorcycle I ever owned. I'm currently in contact with my wife's boss, who might sell me his non-ABS 2003 model for $5,000. It's the faster black color. If I do return to this cult, I promise that pics I post of my R will be of a clean, sleek roadster. No ugly Russell seat, passenger peg extenders, or handlebar mounted 300 watt stereos this time.Hey garyspolar - Nice to hear you might be returning to the cult!
Well, it's not a promise.... ya never know....

Welcome back, Garyspolar! I've been through 3 "secondary" bikes since I bought my beloved Frau Blucher ('02 Red single-spark) two years ago. I cannot bring myself to consider selling her. I thought about an R1200GS or an Adventure 950, until I sat on them. This R beemer is just the best handling, smoothest, most comfy bike I've ever owned. It fits like a glove. Welcome back to the Roadster cult.

I also am new to the Oilhead following. Having owned several airheads and currently a '96 Sportster 1200, this R1150R is abslolutely the best bike I've ridden! None of my Harley friends understand, but the Roadster (Beakster, HA! HA!) is my ride of choice. I look for exuses to ride the Beemer, and my Sportster sits in the driveway with a "For Sale" sign on it . I bought my '02 R1150R a couple weeks ago for $6,000. It has 7,500 miles on it; tank bag, extra seat, Sport Shield, two Shoei helmets, new gloves, manuals, BMW bags, valve cover guards, bike cover, and service record were also included in the price. Oh, yeah...it's the Atlanta Blue color, arguably the fastest color & adds two, maybe three horsepower!
