Hi,

I've read the article at the local gas station. Gotta read fast, but I remember that this is a draft from a designer http://www.s-kraft.net .

It has been shown to a BMW official who statede the the r1200r would not be that agressive. The new bike will be designed for the conservative customer.
They expect the new bike to have 98hp.

Quote, BMW Looks set to replace the 1150R and Rockster engines, next spring with a new lighter and more powerful 1200 lump.
Early speculation says the new 1200R will come with 117bhp as standard but BMWare yet to say whether there will be any restyling of their quirky twins.

98hp would be the R1200GS engine, which is what BMW did with the R1100R and R1150R. Makes sense.

Hey, maybe they'll sell an M-style (Motorsport) "uncorking" kit consisting of an intake, cams, etc. from the new R1200S!

I know this concept isn't new but I'd like to see:

1. a regular R1200R, the only big change from the R1150R being the motor

2. an R1200R (HP version/equivalent of the car M versions) with 10-15 more horsepower (and an uncorked exhaust), upgraded parts were needed (and maybe some more for looks...like wave rotors), unique paint colors, etc. etc.

In other words, two models.

Couldn't find anything in Motorrad, but I did find this from the "Eurogossip" column in

"Moving back to the main market, watch out later this year for the launch of the new naked R1200R, which will finalize the move from the now ageing 1150cc-powered range. The new model will have an identical engine to the R1200GS with 100 bhp on tap. The bike is likely to use the Telelever fork and the latest single-sided Paralever shaft-drive system from existing models, but it will be a lot lighter. The styling will also make the bike look more dynamic and probably be along the lines of a Buell in terms of compactness. Expect to see the bike at the Cologne show latest, but an
earlier launch could be on the cards."

FYI: the Cologne show replaces my beloved Munich Intermot.

Itm, Wunderlich has grabbed the domain "R1200R.net". Plowing through German-language sites, I found out: nothing. BMW is extremely successful in keeping everyone's lips sealed, with superglue probably. On the Swiss 1150R site http://www.r1150r.ch/?p=58 I found two interesting computer pix, of which I really (* really *) like the top version: sweet!
