Millers Semi Synthetic 20W/50- Quieter Engine
Not a general 'which engine oil thread' but just to let any Brits know that Millers 20W/50 semi synthetic engine oil is available at a reasonable price and quietens the cam change tensioner pretty well. I had to listen to it without earplugs during the annual MOT test. The engine cranks over fast from cold also.

Timely advice Gregor - I was just about to spend 60 squidlets on the 15mm cam-chain tensioner upgrade from Motorworks. I'll try that Miller oil first, then. When I get to the UK to see the bike for the first time.....

The newly ordered oil came with a slightly different design and can. This is its description.
Millers Oils Classic Pistoneeze Sport 20w-50 Semi Synthetic Engine Oil
This product is a high performance SAE 20w50 semi synthetic multigrade engine oil. Made with enhanced performance additives and shear stable viscosity index improvers in synthetic and mineral base. It is formulated with full ZDDP (zinc/phosphorus). API SJ specification.
Ideally suited to Aston Martin, Jaguar, Ferrari, Lotus and similar high specific output engines, yet suitable for all discerning owners who want the best possible oil for their classic engine.
I wonder why the emphasis on classic engines and is there any reason not to use this in my BMW?

I have done a bit of Google research. ZDDP tends to poison an exhaust catalyst. As the exhaust emissions are not measured during a UK bike MOT test, then as long as the exhaust does not get blocked up, I should be OK. Fingers crossed.
