Hey! You crashed your Big Dawg into my R1!!! Mmmmm! Delicious!

It's my sixth day of ownership and I continue to be impressed with the MT-01. Don't get me wrong, my Roadster was a great bike, but this thing simply has everything I have ever wanted in a road bike. Huge torque and great handling. It travels very fast when you want it to, but is extremely easy to lope through the city traffic and still enjoy the motor.

The bike reminds me of my younger days and my quest for the perfect bike. I've always been sick that way. Unfortunately, I never got it right on my own.

I wedged a Bultaco 360 Pursang motor into a KLX 250 frame. If you've ever ridden a Bultaco 360 Pursang, you'll know that the power band can only be described as quaaaaaa- aaaa- -WAAP!!!!. If you aren't hanging on very tightly when that last bit comes calling, you will be laying on your back wondering where your bike went. Never do it in a corner or at the crest of a jump.

All I gained was the ability to stop at the end of the monster wheelies.

I rebuilt my tired old KZ900 using a forged crank, a big bore kit and the hottest cams I could find. The result, HUGE power in a frame that is as rigid as a slice of bacon. If you ever get a chance to ride one of these things, don't.

I bought every possible engine mod that Two Brother's Racing offered for my Hawk GT (NT650 Bros for the non-US crowd). I turned a moderately powerful great handling "SV" type of bike into a very expensive paint shaker that still would just keep up with the 600cc inline fours of the day.

Bultaco 360 Pursang

Arrr...those were the good-old days....I had a Bultaco Frontera (same as the Pursang) like this only with small plastic lights and road registered.



Ported,polished,shaved head and up-pipe made for it....boy...what a powerband it had...

I could wheelstand it in every gear.....I loved that bike..(even with the gears and kick starter on the wrong side..what were they thinking)

Oooohhh...I had a Bultaco Astro 360CC factory flat tracker.
Thrill ya, kill ya...made no difference to that little monster.
I still miss it...

A road worthy Bultaco? I would have been leading a parade of police cars everywhere I went.

My Pursang must have been a little older than yours (Mine was a '74 model). I had nowhere near the suspension travel as the one in the picture. You're right though, that thing would wheelie in every gear without so much as a tug on the bars. quaaaaa- aaa- WAAP!!
