Oil leak

Post by R1150RDave »

Just got back to Yorkshire from a quick tour to Scotland and around the isle of Skye to find oil under and to the back of the left hand cylinder.
:(

At first it looked like the cylinder base gasket, but, after cleaning the oil up a few times to try and find where it was coming from, I found it to be the oil pressure switch leaking from the very end.

Sorted with £8 replacement from Motorworks, arrived 2 days. changed in 5 minutes.

:)

So, how was Scotland? Grew up there and plan to return for a M/C tour one day.
Last year I was home and was attentive to road surfaces, twisties etc. Can't wait to blast up around Loch Lomand, the roads are superb....when it's not raining! :)

You are limiting yourself to about two weekends in June if you wait for no rain! I toured Scotland several years ago the week before Easter - I almost froze my final drive off crossing the highlands!
