R1150r handlebars

Post by Jimb »

Hey everybody, new to bmw and forum, previous and still own Harley Vrod. I just picked up a 2002 r1150r with17000 miles, bike looks new. Needed bike I could go cross country on and reviews looked good for bike. Love the bike but would like to change riding position. Leaning forward a bit more than I like. Any reccomendations for bars? Bike came with touring windshield and cases. Any info would be appreciated.

Barbacks may solve your problem. Most fit without having to fit new brake hoses.
Depends how much more that you want to sit upright.
Here are a few from my dealer in Wales. Obviously you'll want to buy from a supplier in the 'States

But these will give you an idea of what is available. Much less hassle than changing the bars. :D

www.creativecycleconcepts.com has barbaks. i have an '03 r1150r and just put 1" up X 1 1/4" back on my bike. i had to cut wire ties under triple trees, but didn't have to replace any hoses. i love them, and ride quite a bit more upright now. i paid around $70 for them.
