Mounting BikeVis Bullet V2 lights on my R1150R

Based on the review at WebBikeWorld, I bought some BikeVis Bullet V2 marker lights to add a bit more visibility to my R1150R. Even ordering from the UK (I'm in the US), the lights weren't too expensive, and took about 1.5 weeks to arrive by regular post. They are little sealed plastic LED lights, which can mount to just about any flat surface. One surprising thing is that the wire runs through the bottom of the light, where the adhesive is. That means that whatever surface they are mounted on will need to have a hole drilled into it.


They don't look too bad, but I'm not sure how bright they will actually look to oncoming cars, or in someones rear view mirror. At dusk and from a few hundred feet they do get lost in the headlight.

I debated installing them on the turn signals, and inside the oil coolers. I decided to go with the beak, because it's further away from the headlight than the turn signals, and the oil coolers prevent seeing the lights at all from side.


I wired them into the little running light inside the headlight.


I ran wires outside the back of the headlight and put weather resistant disconnects on the wires. I then (gently) zip tied those to the existing cables running into the headlight.


I pulled off the beak, drilled holes in it for the Bullet wires, and ran the wires up the speedometer cables.


Finally, I put the other end of the disconnects onto some pigtails, and connected the pigtails and the wires from each Bullet together with wirenuts. I'm not 100% satisfied with the wire nuts, so I may solder and heat shrink the connection between the Bullets and the pigtails.

Total expense was $50-60. The lights were about $33 shipped, and I spent another $20 or so on wire and connectors. I have leftover wire and connectors, so the next project won't require buying those parts. They're not as bright as I'd like, but considering the price and size, I'm pleased.
