I took my "R" on a long ride on NM 246 around the North end of the Capitan mtns. down toward Roswell. I didn't see any Aliens (space type, not illegal type)....but my butt hurts a little.

Is that my stock seat getting to me or was I ABDUCTED????

Rode for over 200 miles in Wisconsin with two other riders (Valkyrie and BlackBird) - awesome weather (82deg) and not a lot of traffic.
Need more time like this to ride...

Anal probes vs BMW seats?

I posed this question to BMW Motorrad who in their usual way went for the probes.

Gave it a thorough wash and wished it a happy 1st birthday. Then thanked it for a flawless 17,448 well run miles.

Just the 80,000km (50,000mi) nose to toes and, finally, the installation of the HyperPro rebuilt ESA shocks!

Yup! HyperPro and ESA in one sentence!

Nice 415 mile Saturday ride to check out my new Sargent seat.
1/3 interstate. 2/3's back roads. 50 miles of rain return leg 20 of which was impressive.

Temp dropped from 94 to 76!! when we hit rain. We broke put typical fla rain gear - turn head to let rain blow off helmet eye shield. Most of the trip was 50 miles north of Tampa, Florida headed north east to Keystone. (20-30 miles east of Gainesville/university of Florida) Johnny's BBQ.

Installed my new SW-Motech Engage tankbag.

I don't like how far off the tank profile it sits... apparently the R's gasfiller opening is farther from the bars than most. I installed the attachment as far back as I could which pushes the bag as far front as possible. I would've liked another 1.5" or so forward... but it is what it is.

I also got the mapcase that attaches to the top of it as I rarely need a map super accessible - so this way I can attach it when I need it.

Stretched her legs on a 400 mile slab ride to cleveland and back. Still amazed how well it can chew up highway at near triple diget speeds for hours at a time.

i'll tell you what i did for my immaculately maintained r1200r today. i just bought one o those 1850. dolla abs pumps that dont fail, you know what i'm talking about? you might even call it a pressure modulator, you know-- the abs unit that really rarely rarely fails. got news for you-- failure rates are quite high. so now we can all debate what constitutes the term -- quite high. you'll be able to explain when or if yours goes kaput. and with the odds out there being what they are-- you might oughta sweat it a lil.

So going for a short ride adds air to the tires? I wish I had known it was that simple! I've been doing it the old-fashioned way...

What did I do for my R today? I put it up for sale. Well, actually that was yesterday. No takers yet.

I love my R1200R so why am I selling it? Because it doesn't have enough legroom even with high seat and peg extenders. I can't ride it for more than an hour. So I recently bought a 2012 R1200GS and regretfully, am now trying to sell the R. :( Sniff. I'd keep it but we can't afford two MC's and don't have the garage space for two bikes either.

The R1200GS is a great bike but doesn't handle quite as well, accelerate as well, or look as good as the R. It's heavier too. But at least it has enough legroom for me! The more I ride it the better I like it.

Please carry on with the R1200R discussion now, sorry to digress.

Since you don't like your R1200R maybe you should sell it and get something more reliable. A nice Japanese bike maybe.

And, what are the "quite high failure rates"?

And how can we take someone whose handle is "uncle BS" seriously?
