New PR3

I put a new Michilin PR3 on the rear yesterday. I have changed my own tires for years on my K1200LT and I gotta say this was a little more difficult. Not a lot of give on the rear tire. I had Metzlers prior to this and picked up a couple of nails in the rear which was a bummer because it only had 4500 miles on it. The PR3 rubber feels "softer" to the touch although I don't have calibrated fingers. I have a short commute so I don't have many miles on it yet. I will try to remember to give my impressions when I get a bunch of s/miles on the PR3.

I am normally not a tire switcher. I pretty much stick with what ever I have unless there is a problem, so this is a first for me. I sure missed the R while I was waiting for the tire to be delivered and then waiting for a day I could get around to puting it on. I am not really sure why I posted this except for the fact that not many folks around my nrighborhood are interested in new tires. I knew you guys would understand...

You are going to love the PR3's. They are very neutral in steering, have outstanding wear characteristics so far, and are really good in the wet. You really need to match up the front also.

Your feeler pegs will scrape easily !

I had a PR3 put on the front in Boise last month. I've ridden about five thousand miles since (really...it was in the middle of a big trip), and I like it a lot.

It's difficult to understand some people, including those who aren't interested in tyres.
Anyway you've picked the right audience here.
Like you I'm not a switcher - having previously run Z6s for 50000 km. But when they were unavailable I tried PR3s front & back and am very happy. I won't be switching my switch.
