What's on your Wish List?

Post by duckdave »

I'm late getting mine together---being hassled by my family about it. Thought I'd post my m/c related items here in case any of you guys/gals decide to get me anything...lol. Let's compare lists, maybe get some new ideas we didn't know we needed.
  • •Superfine Merino Wool m/c socks (Aerostitch)
    •Chelsea Leather Food (boot polish)(Aerostitch)
    •Aerostich Mini Air Compressor #3500
•ProBar Energy Bars-whole grain, really good. A meal on wheels. I like Koka Moka and Art's Original (about $3.30) Only place I can find them anymore is REI.
•Gerbing's Heated Jacket Liner w/ Dual Temp Controller (I know, I'm dreaming...)
Show us your list!

I got my wife Ann the newest Kindle reader, 2 boxes of chocolates and I believe she's getting me a new white Shoei helmet and a breathable mesh summer riding jacket.

Before the dollar collapses and after Sam's Club help stock up the 40 day food bunker, I decided to get my own presents. To score points for my comrades, the shopping waited until after I was sure the (Bush) tax rates would stay the same. Just got a 4-stroke engined Makita leaf blower (BHX2500) and a Garrett Ace 150 metal detector. Been playing with them already . . . . the (commercial grade) leaf blower sounds great, starts easy and runs absolutely flawless. Typical Japanese precision and quality makes it a joy to use. Overhead valve engine has plenty of quick-response power and I rarely have needed to use the full throttle RPM's. In it's green leaf off season, it's used to remove grass clippings from the driveway and long sidewalk after mowing and I'll use it to blow dry my bike or her car after washing them.

Just after Christmas I'm planning to get a semi auto .22 pistol, 2 or 3 high capacity magazines and some big boxes of hollow point long rifle ammo (for protection/exclusion when the dollar collapses). Here in Georgia you can still get a gun with a driver's license and the 3 day waiting period.

Rob, may I suggest the Browning Buck Mark. Oh and stay away from Remington "Thunderbolts". We call them Thunder-squibs out here. :D That ammo is so bad I gave hundreds of rounds away. WalMart used to sell Federal 22HP in a brick of 525 for cheap. I think they still carry it. That ammo never failed me. The Browning is a sweet shooting, and competitively priced piece. They make several versions, one will be right for you.

I'd like an Airhawk seat cushion (medium please, Santa), but I'd be happy with an Airhawk II...
Maybe Santa can afford the Original Airhawk because of the Tax-Break Extension! :D

I'm getting a Marc Parnes wheel balancer. It's not going to be much of a surprise... I had to email my mom a link to his website... and give detailed instructions for what to order.

In a few months, I'll probably get myself a new helmet. It'll most likely be a Shoei RF-1100 (true orange). I am probably going to buy new gloves too... maybe a new mesh jacket... maybe one for Amy...

I'm gonna stop now. It's too frustrating to think about motorcycles, too much snow and cold.
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

+1 on the Parnes. I saved enough on my first set of tires to pay for it. On my second set, I bought* some "tire grease". That was more than well worth the purchase price, too!

*Actually, I could only find it in industrial size containers for mucho (>20 bucks, iirc) bucks. So I talked the parts guy into dipping me out a pint from the gallon bucket they had on hand. He didn't charge me, and it's enough for 10-20 years of my own use, if it doesn't go bad somehow...
