Painted Side-Cases or Panniers

Post by jbrownR12R »

I've got an '07 R1200R with the black side cases. My dad rides a K1200GT and his side cases came painted to match the bike. Have any of you R12R owners had your side cases painted to match your bike? Or anyone looked into it? If so, how much did you spend? How does it look? Anyone have a picture?

One thing to keep in mind is that the black ones are textured - its possible that a lot of pre-painting prep could be needed to get a smooth painted gloss finish (or a lot of paint, but that would make them easy to chip).
