Engine dies suddenly

Its happened twice now. When I pull in the clutch to either upshift or downshift the engine dies suddenly. It gets scary when I let out the clutch and the back wheel locks up. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Hi combarcarry,

if this happens irregularly I would assume either the idle is too low or the synch is not ideal.
