I've been studying the R1100GS foot peg plates and it looks like it would be possible to swap these pates and the associated shifter and brake hardware onto an 1100R. Has anybody tried this? I love my 1100R, but the seating position of the GS is way more comfortable. It looks like you can get a set of peg plates from Beemer Boneyard for about the same price as a lowering kit. Thoughts?

Unfortunately this won't fit as the mounting points are different! I have already considered the same swap ...

They use the same mounting location as the R. I found that the stock position on my R cramped my legs too much to be comfortable for long rides. I wound up buying a wrecked GS and converted the R with the GS peg mounts and body. ALL the GS parts basically bolted right on to the R chassis. BTW, I have a set of peg lowering brackets if you are interested.

Yes or No

Yes, they will work. You will also have to use the GS shifter & linkage and brake pedal. The R master cylinder will fit but the thingie (technical term) that actuates the brake light switch needs to be modified.
