Brake Rotor Bulletin

Post by NeilS »

On a recent road trip of abut 7000 miles, I began to notice a pulsation in my front brake lever during easy/moderate stops. Toward the end of the trip, it had become so apparent that I could feel the deceleration of the bike vary as it came to a stop. I don't recall reading about this issue at all on this group, but I Googled "BMW motorcycle brake vibration" (or something like that) and found there was a Service Bulletin (#34 006 08) to address the issue. I've also looked at the parts catalog and discovered that the front brake rotors and mounting hardware were changed in mid-2008.

I'm waiting before I bring this up to a dealer, because my front tire is pretty much worn out and I want to rule out a tire issue first. But I was wondering if anyone else here has had the same problem and how the dealer responded to the complaint.

My dealer has the parts on order. Warranty repair.
No one, on their deathbed, ever wished that they had spent more time at the office.
