Mortons BMW Open House

Post by Beaze »

Had a great ride to a local dealers' open house yesterday. Four friends of mine tagged along at the last minute and we had a blast. My wife rode with me on the back of the Rockster and I was surprised at how comfortable we both were. It was pretty windy, but mainly from gusts as we'd pass corn fields and horse pastures. Other than that, it turned out to be an amazing day with awesome weather.

Here you can see the group behind us as we were going down the highway.

This is the SWEETEST mullet I've seen in a very long time :P

The ol' lady and I on the Rockster. I'm 6'3" and she's 5'11", I'm amazed at how comfortable we both are on the bike =D> .

Sorry  Here's the shot of my *empty* bowl of "Chicago Chili" from Hard Times Cafe...they had some dayum good food! I should have taken some shots prior to devouring it but I was starving :D . I took this pic using the "Macro" function on my new digital camera, it takes sweet close-up shots!

Looks like you had fun. What part of Virginia are you in? We have lots of other R1150R riders in VA and frequently get together - have you thought about the 'bash' in West VA next month?

We're all in Richmond (well Central Va at least). I hadn't heard about the W.Va bash, I'll have to check the group rides topic for details. I'm taking a week off for the first week of June to take a bunch of day long trips to various places in the state. My brother and I are finishing it off with an overnight camping trip. We're trying to have a mini "Long Way Round/Down" type of week...we'll see how it turns out and I'll be sure to post pics of it!

Any ideas of good VA rides (within a day to return home)? We're trying to keep the hotel costs down, etc...

I was thinking about Natural Bridge, Jamestown, Skyline Drive, Bedford to the WWII memorial and maybe D.C....
