I have a 1998 R850R, which has what appears to be an odd BMW optional dash board.
It has a speedo, clock and rev counter, a large collection of indicator lights, and three holes for fitting rocker switches.
Two of these rocker switches are used, one for hazard lights, one for heated grips, and I want to replace the dummy switch with a real one for additional lights.
Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to get the dash loose from the bike.
I have a copy of the Clymer manual, but the nearest it shows to "my" dash is that of an R1150R. But the R1150R dash stops about where the ignition switch is. Mine extends over the top of the triple clamp arrangement, and, while I can free the front end of the dash, it is still attached at the back, over where the actual steering head bearing is.
Any ideas?
