Seat height

Post by red baron »

I just sold my 05 k1200S and contemplating to buy a 08 R1200R low mileage bike with less than 2,000 miles. Problem this bike has a low seat. I rented in Europe last year a 1200R and was told by BMW that three seat heights are available with the highest seat not so common. Does anybody know for sure that three seat heights are available here in the US and if so what is the seat height difference between the low and the highest seat? The bike I rented in Europe had the medium height seat which was ok but I would prefer the highest seat. In dealerships they always mention that only two seat heights are available. Any input?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

This is from the Max BMW site:

Check here for price and part number: http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/ ... spid=49569

Looks like for $360 you can have whichever one you want.

Thanks Harry; In the meantime I found on the BMW webside that indeed three heights are available.
Standard 31.5, low seat 30.3 and high seat 32.7 inches. Thanks again.
