Are they LED Lights
Can anyone tell me if the 2008 or 2009 R12R comes fitted with LED lights as standard?

2008 not, for sure. Who knows about 2009... 
A few days agò I checked with local BMW dealer the possibility to replace original bulbs turn lights (how do you call these) with the BMW led tecnology ones, but they said that R1200R software (CAN-bus) still doesn't accept them. Maybe with next software upgrade...

The GOOD News:
I went to BMW's UK 'bike builder' and it DOES offer LED turn signals as an option.
The OTHER news:
When I called my local dealer to ask about 2009s, he said that they won't be available in the US because they are "too bright".
Another dealer (where I ordered my 2009 R1200R) told me that it wasn't on his options list...but I'm hoping that it's just early and that the LEDs will be available.

Careful what you believe. My dealer told me when I was shopping for my R1200R that they were "one spark plug per cylinder bikes" no clue, nice guys but on that point no clue.
