tip for married men

Post by rdsmith3 »

If you are going to be riding with your spouse, and you want to crank up the preload adjustment, I suggest you do it out of sight of your wife.

Otherwise, you could get into a discussion along the lines of:

woman: what are you doing?

man: I am adjusting something in the suspension to compensate for extra weight

woman: oh, so you are saying I'm too heavy!?

Suggested alternate answer:

man: I'm adjusting the rear suspension to make your ride softer and more pleasant.

You'll learn. The best thing to do is to learn to talk slower so you can think faster than your talking.

My wife would never believe that I am trying to make her life easier and more pleasant, so that would never fly.

My SO (Janyss) and I were coming home from the Bash. We hit a major rain/hail/windstorm just before we got into Ohio. We stopped for a min to wait it out. I opened my big mouth and said " Thank God you were on the back of the bike, if I woulda been alone, I definately woulda got blown off the road by that wind." I still had my helmet on and was standing next to a brick wall under an overhang. She smiled at me, said "Glad I could help". Then promptly put her hand on the side of my helmet and rammed my head into the wall  .
See, I told you guys, half the time I dont know what I'm talking about.

Another great example of why I'm glad my wife rides her own bike.
She "gets it" when it comes to suspension settings.
