New Fairing Variation

Post by celticus »

I saw this modification at the Ga. Mtn. Rally this weekend. I loved it but could not talk the maker into making one for me . He was a real craftsman.

Interesting - an RS fairing and front fender.. wonder who did the fabrication?

The RS fairing is held on by a small tubing subframe on the RS.. I imagine with some modification it could be fitted to the Roadster. Dunno how the upright seating position of the Roadster would work with that fairing.. The sidepanels have been modified (on the RS they swoop in and attach to the bottom edge of the tank and eventually to the frame under the seat..)

That also looks like a Cee-Bailey screen on it. It appears much larger than the stock one was on my '04 RS. The windshield mechanism on the RS wasn't the sturdiest piece of gear BMW made IMHO.. the large screen may require that it be run fully down to keep from breaking the mechanism. Also wonder about the headlight - that's not the stock RS headlight.

Nice job.. and I'm sure it makes a lot of RS fans salivate (they almost universally didn't like the ST.. which is why the ST is no more..)
