Anyone rented a movie from iTunes yet?

Post by DSKYZD »

Has anyone been able to rent a move from iTunes yet?

I updated to 7.6 last night but could only find one movie (The Aristocats) with the "Rent Movie" option. When I tried it, a box popped up telling me it was no longer available in the store.

The only way I could even find this movie was using the Power Search and checking the box to search for movies available to rent.

That is an optimum work flow.
How dare you question Steve Jobs preferred method for not offering you movies yet. ;)

/kidding.

They just did a press release concerning Movies going into a new Beta phase, so there might be some glitches or by using power search you might have found their 'pseudo-live' test area.

I went to the iTunes store, and in the left column they have a tab for Movies right below music and above TV Shows. Click on that and you get the cover flow look with a lot of movies from which to choose.

The new update for the iPhone is great too. Especially the maps.

Finding movies wasn't the problem.

Finding movies with a "RENT MOVIE" button instead of the "ADD MOVIE" button was a problem.

Haven't tried it today.

Watched the whole keynote last night. The deal about getting Intel to make their processor 60% smaller was pretty cool. I wonder if Intel was doing this anyway, or if Apple really does have that much clout.

I don't know about last night, Brian, but the rentals are there now. You do have to upgrade to the latest version of iTunes to get it though.

Thanks Shaman :) I'm sippin' that Kool-Aid a little.

He said it was available "Today" (yesterday) so I thought I'd try it. Was using the iMac, didn't try it with the PC laptop.
