Cleaning RT windscreen, film?

Post by Jimbobvfr »

ok, so now its official. I picked up my "new" 04 RT yesterday. Its oriental blue, a few nicks and scratches, but overall in excellent condition. I notice some bugs and tar on the w/s so get out the Meguiars scratch-x. I use it regularly for schields, plastic cleaning and scratch removal. I apply it to the inside of the windscreen and notice this film rubbing off slightly. A bit more elbow grease and ? It kees coming off?
Have I removed the ultrachic UV90 block from the screen and now my gauges will dissolve, crack off upon acceleration, etc?
Or should I just go ahead and rub the rest of it off?
TIA.

I would only use soap and warm water with a foam sponge to clean the screen and never use chemicals. To remove stuck on bugs I place a wet kitchen paper towel on the screen / helmet visor, leave for an hour and then they come off easy.
