New R1200R Owner

Post by SG »

Took the plunge and traded in the Hornet for an ex demo black 1200r. What a beast! Took it for a blast around the Yorkshire Dales this weekend. Fantastic torque, and superb Telelever front end made it superb for the narrow lanes and twistys.

Congratulations!

I have owned a K1200S and an Aprilia RSV1000R factory but the R1200R puts a bigger smile on my face than either of those bikes did!

I'm also a new owner. I have a black demo R12R (ABS, centerstand, sport screen, computer, etc). I have owned some great bikes, including the R12GS and Ducati 999, and this is the best machine I've ever riden.

Handling is first rate and the torque is everywhere. The ergos are perfect for me (slight bend forward) and the bike is just beautiful.

The suspension isn't bad but I've been spoiled with Ohlins and Wilbers so that will be a winter project, along with a new silencer (probably a Laser).
