Arai Base Plates

Post by darth_rockster »

Anyone know a reputable source where I can buy Arai Parts online?

I need the base plates for the shield.

I broke one of them changing out my shield to my night time clear shield.

Not the painted outer plastic piece on the side but the white part underneath... I think they are like 6 bucks a pair???

Thanks!

I have a similar problem. A&S Cycles said they can order those for me.
I'm glad to find I'm not the only person who has a problem changing the shield.
I'm thinking of buying a Shoei next time.

These guys are an excellent source of Arai parts:
http://www.theservicepavilion.com

They call themselves "The most specialized ARAI Helmets dealer in the Americas"....

And yes changing the Shield on my Quantum is a pain in the a$$....

I also think my Quantum II is a pain to change the shield and I was surprised that they made it so dificult. I like the helmet but if I had known about that I would have bought another Shoi.

If anyone is considering a BMW System V (not sold in the US but you can get it ) the shield-changing routine is a piece of cake. You open the chin bar, flip hte shield up all the way, and pull it out at a certain angle. Re-installing is the reverse. Quite easy actually.
