AT&T Yahoo DSL users - Have you received this email?

Post by garylspolar »

I'm not sure if this is legit. Anyone else get this email?

Time is running out — update your email settings to help us serve you better.

Dear AT&T Yahoo! Member,

We recently contacted you about some important security improvements we're making to your AT&T Yahoo! service. These changes will affect members who send or receive email from a desktop or mobile client program, such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Eudora, Apple Mail, or Thunderbird.

To help us ensure the security of your email, you will need to change the settings on your desktop or mobile email client program. Please CLICK HERE to view the AT&T Yahoo! Help article detailing the necessary changes.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Once these security enhancement are fully implemented only secure connection capable email clients will be able to access client email (POP/SMTP). Some older email client versions may not support secure connection. Please go to the AT&T Yahoo! Help site located here to determine if your email client supports secure connections and to see if updates or patches are available to support secure connections. If your email client does not support secure connection it will be necessary for you to upgrade your email client in order to use client email. As always, all customers are welcome to utilize the web-based version of AT&T Yahoo! Mail available at http://mail.yahoo.com.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
AT&T Yahoo! Customer Care
