Luggage lock question

Post by rtallent »

For reasons too lengthy to get into now, I have to remove the lock cylinder from one of my side bags and reinstall it. Does anybody here know how many of the Torx-head screws inside the bag I need to remove to get to the cylinder?

There are (7) T25 screws inside the case back and another T25 at the top, facing out. There are also (4) T20 bits inside the case at the top and (5) on the inside foward-facing side, (2) of which look like they probably hold on the spring loaded lid strap reel.

I'm guessing the T25s all need to be removed and the coin-slot turn thing needs to be turned and that the T20s should be left alone.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It seems like I saw a walk through on this site somewhere dealing with lock removal. It had pictures and was fairly complete.

Thanks Mark. I had searched but not thoroughly enough. In case anybody else needs it, here's a link to the procedure for the new R1200R/ST/RT and K1200GT cases:

Thanks again.
