Well, it just got to me. I installed a 23" version last year, and where the pretty plastic trim pieces for the headlight come off,(and do not go back on) really started to bother me. OK I am anal. So at the local True Value, I saw a locked up assortment of chrome pieces, and this is what I used to replace the pretty plastic, that I wish never had to go. They are nice! So now I feel better. Better then a couple of rubber gromet's.

I put a parabellum scout on and I did put the
trim back on. The trim is only held on by one of the snaps but after700 miles they haven't come off. If they do it will still be hanging on the turn signal. And then its time for the duct tape.
I found the Parabellum to be not that attractive, but effective. I made a few modifications that I think make it look alot better. I think the side trim pieces were trimmed down by the original owner on the backside because they were no longer silver on the back edge. I took them off and painted them black. I also removed that rubber gasket on the bottom because it really doesn't do anything except look ugly. The bottom of the shield is far enough away that it will not rub on the headlight so it really isn't needed.
I also trimmed the "wings" off the bottom of the shield that went underneath the turn signals to give it a more streamlined look.
T thought about trimming the headlight trim pieces, but I was too lazy to paint them silver. I do like your screen w/o the black trim around the headlight. I thought it was to keep out air/moisture.

I just used a Dremel to modify the trim pieces and used a small brush and some silver paint to touch up the edges. The entire piece doesen't need to be repainted if you're careful while trimming.
Hey, Buckster, I see you have the GS handguards on along with the Parabellum screen. How did you modify the screen brackets to get them to fit over the handguard clamps?
I can't speak for Buckster, but the windshield brackets played no part in the installation of the GS handguards on my R. All I had to do was reposition the clutch and brake hydraulic lines slightly, and whammo, they fit. Of course, the GS bars have a different angle than the R bars, so the handguards are slightly stressed. No biggy.

Anthony, would it be possible to post a pic of your shield beackets? On mine the handguard clamps on the bars interfere with the shield brackets where they cross the bars. Taller spacers there they bolt to the triple clamp may help. I have the medium height Parabellum screen.
Throttlemeister makes a model for the GS with handguards w/wo heated grips, so I don't see why not.

Byrdguy - Sorry, but these pictures are a bit deceptive because I have added barbacks since installing the handguards. If you look closely, especially at the last picture, you can see that the guards will just barely fit under the shield mounts without the barbacks installed.
I don't want to steer you wrong, but you may want to research this a bit, as I know I'm not the only person with this setup. Hope this helps.

I have the same barbacks as pictured by Anthony. It was no problem putting the hand gaurds on. I did Dremel the openings of where the cables came through on both to make them fit. I also agree that they are kind of "flexed" to fit the R's bars. I have the Throttlemiester which I cannot use while the gaurds are on. I used hose washers at the end of the bar wieghts to keep them in place because they kept wanting to slide up from the flexing they did to fit on the bars.
