Well after exactly a year I am going back to a GS. I bought my first GS in 1989 and have had one of each since but fancied a change last year so bought a rockster. A dam fine machine and very unusual, especially here in Vermont. Unfortunately I never really got used to it.

I have enjoyed reading and chatting - thanks...........

PS - I have some accessories to sell - I'll post them on the market.

jon what is it that makes you feel uncomfortable on the reock, but fine on the GS? Just because you are switching doesn't mean you are not welcome. Hell a GS is just a Roadster with a lift kit.

I kind of agree - I thought the Rockster would be like a GS except a bit lower............I have ridden Gss since the mid 1980s including r80GS, R100GS, R100GSPD and two R1100GSs then moved to the US and was told we could not import our bikes (we had others - KTMs) so we sold them. When we got here it seemes that the GSs are a lot more expensive than the regular "R" bikes so I tried the Rockster - I liked it, but just never got on with it somehow..............evertime I went anywhere I would tell myself that I liked it BUT, it just didn't seem to fit - in my opinion and experience that R bikes are not as 'chuckable' as the GS. I guess I just wasn't enjoying it as much. I now have a new 1200 Adventure and I love it - it just seems to fit me!

Maybe it's just what I am familiar with? For twelve years I din't have a car - I travelled every day on a GS (about 35,000 a year), of course years ago you didn't see them very much where as today they are very common - I liked the fact that living here in Vermont I never saw another Rockster! Where as now I have a very common BMW! I am please I had the Rockster (not so pleased with the amount of cash I lost on it though!)
