Slide Show Software

Post by Boxer »

I have a question for you photography wizards.
I've been trying in vain to find a slide show program that will make Flash slide shows. I've downloaded and tried about 8 so far from the web.

Do any of you have a favorite you can recommend? How 'bout it taosports? What did you use for that neat slideshow you posted recently?

Phil -

I like using Sound Slides. It's very quick and simple to use. Will work with both pc and mac. You can download a trial version to try it out.

I also use Audacity to edit sound for the slideshows. It's also easy to use and free!

For those of you not familiar with Sound Slides, here are two I put together recently and posted in the Great Rides forum. The first one is set to music - a fall ride near my home. The second is a silent slide show with captions on a motorcycle hillclimb I photographed.

Thanks Michael! I knew you'd come through. I downloaded it and love it. Now am waiting on the registration code. It doesn't have all the fancy frilly stuff that bothered me about the others.

I will be studying the very easy manual this evening. BTW, how did you create the silent show with just captions? It appears that you have to have a music file as the base line timer.

Check my first basic creation at:

The silent slideshow is done with the help of Audacity. (Link in my previous post) All you do is generate a silent soundtrack of whatever length you want and use that for your timeline in Sound Slides. Audacity is free and works with both pc and mac. If you need help with either Audacity or Sound Slides, let me know - both are very easy to use once you use them a few times.
